At the Faculty Workshop celebrating the start of the academic year for teaching and research staff, MBS distinguished itself by being ranked 20th in the world in the ‘Economics and Business’ category in the prestigious US News rankings, making it 1st among French schools. This international recognition underlines the excellence and impact of the research carried out by its faculty.

The US News ranking: an international benchmark for Research

US News’ “Best Global Universities for Economics and Business” ranking is one of the most influential new barometers for assessing the quality of academic research worldwide. Based on criteria strictly related to scientific research and publications, the ranking is based on bibliometric data from Clarivate’s Web of Science platform, covering the period from 2018 to 2022. Publications are selected from over 22,000 leading academic journals. The current edition of the ranking analyses 51 areas of research, including economics and business, highlighting the most relevant and influential academic institutions worldwide.

An excellent performance for MBS

MBS was ranked 20th in the world in the ‘Economics and Business’ category, with an overall score of 74.6. This performance places MBS at the top of the French schools in this ranking. This international recognition reflects the institution’s ongoing work and commitment to producing relevant, high-level research that meets the current needs of the academic and professional world.

Research at MBS: A Commitment to Innovation and Sustainability

Research at MBS is distinguished by its alignment with the school’s mission, which aims to address the challenges of societal transition, particularly in terms of CSR and sustainable development. Since 2015, a quarter of the intellectual contributions of MBS Lecturers have focused on these themes, influencing both teaching content and managerial practices.

MBS has an ecosystem comprising 6 Chairs, 3 centres and 2 research laboratories, which promote interaction between the academic world and businesses. Notable projects include the COAST Chair, which is playing a key role in the European ENFASYS project to promote sustainable agricultural systems, with funding of €406,000. At a more local level, the MIND Chair is focusing on the creation of innovative tools to measure diversity and inclusion within organisations, with initiatives such as the Mixity Campus platform. This approach demonstrates that the research conducted at MBS is not limited to theoretical analysis, but has a direct impact on society and professional practices.
