More than 20 years of experience in International Business, working in more than 30 countries helping SMEs to do Business Globally. Accumulated experience in all the sectors of the Triple Helix of Development: private sector, government, and academia. Performance of various functions such as planning, design, development, and implementation of business strategies. Experience in business process redesign, strategic plans, international business strategy, and opening new markets. Strong academic experience.
As an Academic, he has 20 years of experience as a professor of subjects such as International Business, International Marketing, International Strategy, Intercultural Administration, Global Supply Chain Management, and Export Projects. He was for 7 years a manager at the TEC de Monterrey, Campus Guadalajara, as Director of the master’s Program in International Business and previously as Director of the bachelor’s Program in International Business.
As for the Public experience, he was for 5 years the President of the Foreign Trade Committee of the American Chamber of Commerce, and previously he was for 6 years General Director of the Institute of Promotion to Foreign Trade and Investment of Jalisco State, where he supported to practically all the industrial sectors in its internationalization strategies. Also, for 3 years he was Manager of International Projects in the Council of Industrial Chambers of Jalisco and was also Deputy Director of Economic Promotion of the Delegation of the Federal Economy Secretariat.
As for the Private companies experience, he worked at the Jalisco Furniture Manufacturers Association as General Manager, Quaker Oats México as Administrative Sales Management, Tegrafik, and Contpaq-i in the areas of Marketing, and International Promotion. He has also been a business consultant since 2008, supporting companies from different sectors in their internationalization.
He holds two masters, one in Politics and Public Management, and a second one in Specialized Studies in Enterprise Economy. His undergraduate studies were in business administration (Marketing specialization). He holds multiple Diplomas Studies (90 hrs or more), such as a Diploma in Finance from TEC de Monterrey, a Diploma of International Trade Policy from the United States Department of State, a Social Developing Diploma from the National Conference of Business Owners in Mexico and a World Wide Sommelier Diploma. He has taken dozens of courses and specialized workshops; all around International Business, Business Strategy, Supply Chain, and Sustainability.
Alejandro has a profound interest in topics of International Business, Leadership, Social Development, and sustainability.
Currently, Alejandro is a professor at Montpellier Business School. He was the Director of the program of bachelor’s in international business from 2020 to 2021 at the same school
