 The objective of this Summer School for Academics is to share expertise of MBS Faculty members on Pedagogy & Research.

All academics are welcome, whatever the stage of their career (PhD students, Young Scholars, Professors)

Join us in our Montpellier campus in the South of France from June 29, 2026 to July 03, 2026.

At the end of the program, the participants will received a certificate of completion.

What to expect from the Summer School for Academics

  • 5 days to learn and network with engaged professors from MBS School of Business
  • 2 days on Pedagogy, 2 days on Research, 1 day on Paper Development Workshop
  • Networking with professors from MBS and participants from all over the world

29/06/2026 & 30/06/2026 : Pedagogy Summer School by Professors Cédrine Joly and Magalie Marais on “Living pedagogies: Integrating sustainability and systemic thinking into management education

This two-day seminar provides participants with tools, frameworks, and experiential learning opportunities to design and animate courses that reflect sustainability challenges and the interdependence between human and non-human systems.

It invites them to create alternative learning spaces where innovation, empathy, and responsibility towards living can emerge and generate tangible impact within their professional and educational communities.

Day 1

Key sustainability frameworks

The place of sustainability and the living world within institutions and curricula

Core competencies related to education for sustainable development

Teaching postures for transformative and systemic learning

Principles of living pedagogy: co-creation workshop 

Integrating the living world and human/non-human interdependence into pedagogy 

Exploring multiple ways of learning: head, heart and body

01/07/2026 & 02/07/2026: Research Summer School by Professor Jonathan Luffarelli on Introduction to testing mediation, moderation, and moderated mediation in SPSS

This two-day seminar equips participants with a solid understanding of mediation, moderation, and moderated mediation methods and their applications in management and business research (for example, in marketing, entrepreneurship, strategy, and organizational behavior/human resources).

It relies on the PROCESS macro for SPSS.

03/07/2026: Marketing research paper development workshop by Professor Jonathan Lufarelli.

This one-day workshop is designed for researchers working on a manuscript in progress.

Participants will receive personalized feedback and detailed reviews to help them refine their papers and prepare them for submission to journals in consumer behavior or marketing.

This workshop precedes the European Social Marketing Conference at MBS School of Business (8-10 July 2026

Day 5

Fundamentals of crafting a manuscript that reviewers find clear, engaging, and difficult to reject 

Practical guidance on writing key sections: Introduction, theoretical background, hypothesis development, empirical section, and general discussion
