Support and Services for Students with Disabilities

Before the Program: Accessible Admissions and Personalized Information

Welcoming and supporting students with disabilities is a priority within MBS School of Business’s Diversity and CSR (Corporate Social Responsibility) commitment. MBS strives to ensure that every student benefits from an inclusive, accessible, and equitable academic journey, from the admission stage through to graduation.

From the very beginning of the admissions process, MBS ensures fair access to its programs.

Applicants with disabilities may contact the admissions service (promotion@mbs-education.com) in order to:

  • Receive detailed information about available accommodations during entrance exams (extended time, smaller examination rooms, etc.).

  • Arrange a personalized campus visit if needed.

  • Be connected with the staff responsible for implementing the school’s disability policy.

During the Program: Individual Support and Adapted Measures

A Network of Disability Advisors

MBS has established a network of disability advisors located across different departments of the school. These trained staff members support students with disabilities throughout the key stages of their academic journey (studies, internships, work-study programs, and international mobility).

These advisors meet several times a year within a dedicated body: the Academic and Study Accommodations Committee.

An Accessible Campus

MBS has a campus accessible by tramway, located within a 7-hectare park. Pathways between buildings are specifically designed for people with reduced mobility or visual impairments.

The campus also includes a large parking area with more than 400 spaces, including several accessible parking spaces for persons with reduced mobility.

MBS provides:

  • 35 classrooms with capacities ranging from 20 to 75 seats, most of which are accessible to people with reduced mobility.

  • A large auditorium with 470 seats (including 11 accessible seats).

  • An auditorium with 134 seats.

  • An auditorium with 79 seats (including 4 accessible seats).

  • 15 collaborative workspaces available for group work.

Overall, the campus offers a total capacity of 2,700 seats.

All teaching rooms are equipped with fixed audiovisual systems (projectors, screens, interactive boards, and sound systems), supporting the use of the latest digital technologies. These installations were upgraded in 2015 and again in 2020.

Transition to a New Campus

MBS will soon move to a new campus in Cambacérès, located near the Montpellier Sud de France high-speed train station.

This new campus has been designed to further improve accessibility and inclusivity, reinforcing the school’s commitment to supporting students with disabilities.0

Study Accommodations

Academic accommodations may include adjustments in daily course organization such as:

  • note-taking assistance

  • permission for early departure from classes

  • the use of adapted software or learning tools

At the beginning of the academic year, students with disabilities are invited to complete a dedicated form, which must be filled out and signed by their general practitioner or a specialist involved in their medical care.

The application file must then be submitted to the Academic and Examination Accommodations Committee, which will issue recommendations to be validated by the MBS Executive Board, depending on feasibility and alignment with academic program requirements.

Examination Accommodations

To benefit from specific arrangements during examinations—such as extended time, a note-taker, an individual exam room, adapted equipment (computer or specific software), or adapted exam formats (larger font, modified spacing, Braille, etc.)—students must complete an accommodation request form including:

  • Medical or paramedical documentation justifying the need for accommodations (reports, certificates, etc.).

  • Documentation of accommodations previously granted at other institutions, if applicable.

Once the file is completed, students are invited to contact the MBS Disability and Health Advisor at:

n.ortiz@mbs-education.com

The advisor will forward the documents to the appropriate department of the MDPH (Departmental Office for Persons with Disabilities) so that accommodation recommendations can be issued to the MBS Academic and Examination Accommodations Committee.

This process ensures that:

  • the student’s medical file remains confidential

  • only accommodation recommendations are shared with the institution.

These recommendations are then submitted to the MBS Executive Board for validation and implementation.

Once processed, the MDPH sends only the recommended accommodations to MBS without sharing the student’s medical file.

After approval by the school’s management, students receive an official notification detailing the accommodations granted.

Once validated, these accommodations remain applicable for the entire duration of the student’s studies until graduation, unless a new request is submitted during the program.

Specific Support Measures

Glaaster

Since the 2024 academic year, MBS has implemented a digital learning platform used systematically for all courses. The platform is based on the Moodle system.

Professors detail each class session and provide teaching materials such as:

  • course slides

  • self-learning modules created using tools such as Alexandra, Speechi, and Prezi.

Language Tests

Language tests such as TOEIC are mandatory to obtain the diploma.

MBS recommends that students with specific cognitive disorders (particularly DYS disorders) contact their disability advisor in advance to anticipate their needs.

In certain cases, an alternative to the TOEIC—such as the Leveltel test—may be offered.

This 25-minute oral phone-based test assesses active language skills (CEFR level B2) as well as soft skills in a professional context.

MBS Disability Scholarship

Since the 2023 academic year, MBS has strengthened its commitment to inclusion and equal opportunities through the creation of the MBS Disability Scholarship.

This financial aid aims to reduce tuition fees for students with disabilities.

The scholarship:

  • is awarded after review of the student’s application file

  • is directly deducted from tuition fees

  • amounts to €5,000 for all eligible students

Students receiving CROUS scholarships are given priority for this funding.

Support with Administrative Procedures

In collaboration with the MBS Career Center and in response to requests from partner companies, the network of disability advisors provides information and guidance for students wishing to apply for RQTH status (Recognition as a Disabled Worker), particularly for students pursuing work-study programs.

Companies hosting students with disabilities often provide specific support measures, and obtaining RQTH status can facilitate access to these arrangements.

MBS therefore works closely with students to simplify these administrative procedures and support their professional integration.

Support Measures Related to Gynecological Conditions

In response to the increasing number of students affected by gynecological health conditions that may not always be formally recognized, MBS offers the following measures for students who provide a medical certificate from a specialist at the beginning of the academic year:

For full-time students

Up to two consecutive days of absence (beyond standard medical certificates).

For work-study students

Students may benefit from two consecutive days of absence, subject to prior agreement from their host company.

MBS will systematically contact the company to present the support measures implemented by the school and to identify any internal support solutions such as:

  • remote work

  • menstrual leave

  • adapted working hours
