MBS hosts the International Conference in Finance, Banking, and Accounting (ICFBA), attended by 164 international researchers.
On September 8th and 9th, Montpellier Business School’s Chair in Social and Sustainable Finance is co-organizing the 2023 International Conference in Finance, Banking, and Accounting (ICFBA) with the University of Portsmouth School of Accounting, Economics, and Finance.
This event will bring together over 160 international researchers, featuring unique conferences and keynote speakers, including Dr. Steven Ongena from the University of Zurich, Dr. Renée Adams from the University of Oxford, and MBS’s own experts, Dr. Anastasia Cozarenco, Dr. Fotios Pasiouras, Dr. Moez Bennouri, and Dr. Thi Hong Van Hoang.
While the event’s 38 workshops will cover all the contemporary issues facing the financial world (market regulation, cryptocurrencies, NFT, ESG standards, financial risks, etc.), two keynotes entitled “Banks, bankers and climate” and “How to save the world” will be central to the two days of debates, opening up discussions on CSR, which is now a priority for the sector as it faces up to the challenges of transition.
Montpellier Business School’s Research Expertise in High Demand
MBS’s international impact in finance, banking, and accounting is not new. The school hosts its own Yunus Centre, in partnership with the Yunus Centre in Dhaka, Bangladesh. This hub focuses on educating students about social business through specialized courses, diploma programmes, internships, and impactful projects.
Dr. Anastasia Cozarenco and Dr. Thi Hong Van Hoang, actively engaged in the ICFBA conference, also lead MBS’s Chair in Social and Sustainable Finance. Their mission is to promote social finance, including microfinance, social banking, and sustainable finance, aligning with the United Nations’ 17 Sustainable Development Goals. Recently, thanks to the Chair, MBS became the first Business School certified by the French Financial Market Authority (AMF) to conduct the AMF Sustainable Finance examination. “
