The Scholarship Ceremony: the realization of a social policy supported by companies and by the Foundation
“Work for a greater diversity of talents, profiles, experiences and therefore managers.”
On Thursday, February 6th, the Montpellier Business School Scholarship Award Ceremony celebrated the skills, academic level and potential of students for whom the financial barrier could have censored the ambition to pursue the studies they deserve.
Gathered around this common desire to commit to and invest in the equal opportunities policy, partner companies, employees, alumni and families had the opportunity to get to know the sixteen new winners of the scholarships for Excellence, merit and academic encouragement. “It is about working for a greater diversity of talents, profiles, experiences and therefore managers of tomorrow,” explains Anne-Valérie Crespo-Febvay, President of the Montpellier Business School Foundation for Equal Opportunities.
Thanks to business partners of Montpellier Business School and the Montpellier Business School Foundation for Equal Opportunities, 15 million euros have been invested to enable 400 laureates to overcome this financial barrier for ten years.
The first Alumni scholarship
During this event, Montpellier Business School companies and employees had the opportunity to present:
- Excellence scholarships, which cover the full cost of training for students designated on social and academic criteria.
- International excellence scholarships which include training costs and living expenses for students recruited from developing countries, with the help of French embassies abroad.
- Merit and Academic Incentive Scholarships.
- The employee grant for which all Montpellier Business School employees are mobilized.
But this Ceremony was marked in particular by the presentation of the first Alumni scholarship by Emmanuelle Pinet, ambassador and 2011 graduate. “This approach carries the values of the school. At a time when many of us are looking for actions that make sense to us, this action is both simple and allows us to give back a little of what we received, in the past, in their place,” explains Emmanuelle Pinet.
A Foundation entirely devoted to equal opportunities
The specificity of the Montpellier Business Scholl Foundation lies in the fact that 100% of donations are reinvested in actions related to equal opportunities. Its mission is to finance the various systems aimed at helping students socially and financially.
Scholarships other than the Excellence scholarships are also awarded each year to apprentices: these are App’titude scholarships, which supplement the remuneration of apprentices in order to be able to provide for unforeseen events related to the pace of training.
The Foundation also supports and encourages entrepreneurship with the Young Innovative and Responsible Business prize which finances the project of young entrepreneurs, students or graduates for less than three years.
