My name is Antje Meyer-Berge, I'm German and I've been living in France for 36 years.
I studied agronomy in Stuttgart. Then I did my DEA and PhD at INRA (now INRAE) in Colmar, Alsace, where I researched the cultivation of medicinal plants, particularly Arnica.
I also did a year's training in journalism and communications at the KLETT publishing house in Stuttgart (Germany)
I've been in Montpellier since 1994 and initially worked for INRA and other research organisations in the events field
Since 1999, I've been teaching German at MBS (formerly Sup de Co) and since 2012, I've been the only person in charge of this subject, which is offered to Bachelor's and Master's students.
I'm a self-taught teacher, but I've always enjoyed giving support classes and, from 2000 to 2010, I took part twice a year in the training days and workshops offered by Heidelberg House for teachers of German outside the national education system.
I have also trained future schoolteachers in German and pedagogy, and have experience teaching German in English to foreign students at Polytec and the IAE in Montpellier
For 8 years, I prepared students in a work-linked BTS in Tourism for the LV2 exam at the CCI Montpellier.
Since 2014, I have been teaching in a science preparatory class at Pierre Rouge (a private secondary school in Montferrier) and preparing German-speaking students in the ECE preparatory class at La Merci (a private secondary school in Montpellier) for the oral test of the Grandes Ecoles de Commerce competitive entrance exams.
Since the start of the 2024 academic year, MBS has offered me the opportunity to teach FLE (the common language is English) and I have discovered a new subject and a new audience that I have really enjoyed. I'll be continuing this work next year.
And during the summer, I regularly take part in research projects at INRAE.
I have lots of interests and in my spare time I enjoy ballet, hiking, sailing, gardening, reading and playing the piano, but I like also cinema, theatre and concerts.
