Dr. Ilya Komarev joined MBS in October 2021 as Director of the Bachelor Program. Since September 2023, he has been serving as Director of the Grande École Program at MBS.
Holder of a PhD from the University of Bordeaux in management control and internal auditing, he taught at EDHEC Business School before moving to Abu Dhabi and then to Morocco, where he served as Academic Director of the EM Lyon campus in Casablanca. Originally from Bulgaria and with in-depth knowledge of the workings of French business schools, he has coordinated several programs at various levels.

Audrey Rouyre, PhD, is an Assistant Professor of Strategic Management at MBS School of Business. Her research is focused on the management of innovation projects conducted by several competitors (i.e., multilateral coopetition) and public-private collaboration in the European aerospace industry. Her research has been published in well-known journals such Journal of Operations Management, Technovation and California Management Review. She is involved in conference activities as a co-chair in the CENA track (Coopetition, Ecosystem, Networks and Alliances) and co-program chair for Strategic Management SIG at European Academy of Management (EURAM). She has served as a reviewer for numerous journals, including Technovation, California Management Review, M@nagement, Finance-Contrôle, Stratégies.

Matthias Staessens joined Montpellier Business School in 2022 as an Assistant Professor in Corporate Governance and Social Entrepreneurship. His academic mission centers on catalyzing a shift toward a more sustainable and resilient society. To this end, his research delves into the means by which organizations can strike an optimal balance among social, ecological, and economic objectives. He places a special emphasis on the role of decision-makers within organizations, including CEOs, board members, and top management teams (TMT). Specifically, his expertise lies in work integration social enterprises, social start-ups, and cooperatives. In these sectors and on these topics, his research has been published in the Journal of Business Ethics, Academy of Management Perspective, and Strategic Change.
This academic commitment extends to his teaching. Across various levels (from bachelor to executive) and disciplines, Matthias guides both current and future managers on adopting sustainable and resilient strategies. He has developed teaching materials on topics such as social entrepreneurship, impact measurement, and sustainable innovation management.
Beyond academia, Matthias has actualized his mission in practical ways: he serves on the board of directors for a residential care center, authors industry reports for associations in the social economy, generates several press releases on social economy and creates roadmaps for reforming boards of directors, as well as on how to form nonprofit-for-profit collaborations.

Felipe Pantoja is an Assistant Professor of Marketing at MBS School of Business. He has earned his Ph.D. from NEOMA Business School (France). His research concentrates mainly on how customers’ senses influence cognition and decision making. His work has been published in journals such as Journal of Advertising, Journal of the Association for Consumer Research, International Journal of Advertising and Journal of Retailing and Consumer services. In addition, he serves as associate editor for the Italian Journal of Marketing and is part of the editorial review board of journals such as Journal of Business Research and Journal of Consumer Marketing.

Dr Sean Power holds a BComm (Accounting) from Rhodes University, South Africa (Dean’s List for Academic Merit) and a first-class honours BSc (Accounting) and a PhD (Accounting) from University College Cork. He qualified as a chartered accountant and has several years’ experience in professional practice. Before joining MBS, he held academic positions at University College Dublin and University College Cork. He was Programme Director of the Master of Accounting Degree at UCD Smurfit Graduate Business School (2018-2021).
His research interests include financial reporting, corporate narratives, quantitative research methods and text analysis. His research has been published in British Accounting Review, Critical Perspectives on Accounting and Accounting, Auditing and Accountability Journal.

His research interests focus on cross-cultural consumer behavior, global branding, and global consumer culture(s). He serves as an associate editor for the International Marketing Review and is an Editorial Review Board member for the Journal of International Marketing and the Journal of the Academy of Marketing Science. His work has been published in leading journals, including the Journal of the Academy of Marketing Science, Journal of International Business Studies, Journal of Business Ethics, Journal of International Marketing, International Marketing Review, and Journal of Business Research.
His research has received several prestigious awards, including the AMA Global Marketing SIG Excellence in Global Marketing Research Award, the Hans B. Thorelli Award for long-term impact in international marketing, and the Susan P. Douglas Award for the best EMAC paper in international marketing. Additionally, he has been recognized as a significant contributor to the International Marketing Review both as an author and reviewer.

Dr Thomas SIMON, Assistant Professor in Human Resources Management (HRM), joined MBS in September 2022. He holds a PhD in management science from ESCP Business School and four master's degrees in management science (emlyon business school & Lyon III University), philosophy and modern literature (Paris Nanterre University). Before joining MBS, he was an Adjunct Professor at ESCP Business School (Paris campus).
His research focuses on various subjects at the crossroads of management and the humanities: boredom, absurd situations in the workplace, role-playing and stupidity in organizations. Thomas teaches three courses at MBS: Diversity & HR Management (PGE2), Research Approach & Methods (PGE3) and Understanding postmodernity and developing critical thinking skills (PGE2).

Dr Alec Waterworth is an Associate Professor in Project Management, having joined Montpellier Business School in September 2022. He previously worked as a lecturer and Director of Executive Educations Programmes at the Alliance Manchester Business School, delivering teaching to organisations such as BAE Systems, BP, the UK Department for International Trade, and the NHS. His teaching is focussed on addressing complex organisational challenges across a wide range of sectors and contexts. His research interests include the ongoing clean energy transition (and the role of project management therein) and academic entrepreneurship. Before entering academia, Alec worked in the oil and gas industry as a Quality Assurance Engineer on several multi-billion US$ projects.

As Dean of Programs since Novembre 2020, Dr. Oussama AMMAR is responsible for providing the intellectual leadership for Montpellier Business School (MBS)'s programs. He oversees the entire portfolio of academic programs including executive programs, provides operational leadership and vision in the development, internationalization, and implementation of innovative and distinctive programs, and supervises the Global Engagement office for student mobility, the Student Life and Experience office as well as MBS's career center. He develops and promotes initiatives aimed at improving the quality of education at MBS, works in collaboration with faculty, staff and administrators to plan, develop, implement and assess programs that meet student expectations and that fulfill the school's mission of being a vibrant learning organization that creates impactful knowledge and develops new competences. Dr. Oussama AMMAR has also occupied the position of Dean of the US campus of SKEMA Business School in Raleigh, North Carolina, USA and the position of Associate Dean of Undergraduate Programs at SKEMA Business School in Lille, France. As Academic Dean, Dr AMMAR had an overall responsibility for operational management of academic programs in the US campus. He was responsible for: faculty and administrative staff recruitment, development and evaluation of faculty and staff; academic budget management and resource allocation; program and curriculum development and assessment; strategic academic planning; and maintaining compliance with accreditation standards. Dr Oussama AMMAR was also the Global Scientific Director of the MSc in International Business between September 2015 and August 2018 (France, US, China and Brazil). He was the Associate Chair of the Strategy and Entrepreneurship Department from 2011 to 2013. He is also a Full Professor of strategy and has over 20 years of experience in teaching strategy and strategy related topics to a large range of audiences.
