Dr. Johanna Gast has been a member of Montpellier School of Business since 2014. She began as a research assistant and doctoral student from 2014 to 2017. She then held the position of Assistant Professor from 2017 to 2020, before being promoted to Associate Professor in September 2020. She earned her PhD in Science from Lappeenranta University of Technology, Finland, in 2017.
Her current research focuses on entrepreneurship, strategy, innovation, and transformation in SMEs, micro-enterprises, and family firms. She has published in several renowned academic journals, such as the Journal of Product Innovation Management, Small Business Economics, Journal of Small Business Management, International Small Business Journal, International Journal of Management Review, Technological Forecasting & Social Change, International Journal of Hospitality Management, and World Development, among others.
